Back in the 1990’s, Mors Kochanski and Karamat Wilderness Ways came up with the SIT Program or Survival Instructor Trainee Program. They ran this program until about 2010. It was basically a list of things Mors felt a person should know and be able to teach to become a Survival Instructor. The list was put into a logbook style book where a person could keep track of where they learned the information, from whom and how often they practiced the skill. Later on, the Grand Syllabus was published that gave a more detailed explanation of the SIT Program. The logbook works in combination with the Grand Syllabus.
